Alien: Earth is a live-action science fiction horror series for television, created by Noah Hawley and the first of its kind within the Alien franchise. Its story takes place two years prior to the 1979 film *Alien*. The show debuted on August 12, 2025, airing on FX and FX on Hulu in the United States, with an international release on Disney+.
The series opens by establishing its central concept: three paths to human immortality—cyborgs (humans with biomechatronic parts), synthetics (fully artificial intelligent beings), and hybrids (synthetic bodies housing transferred human consciousness). When the deep-space research vessel *USCSS Maginot* crashes on Earth, a young hybrid woman named Wendy and a group of tactical soldiers encounter a discovery that confronts them with the planet’s greatest threat.
Main cast members include Sydney Chandler as Wendy, the first hybrid and leader of the "Lost Boys"—six prototype hybrids created by the Prodigy Corporation from terminally ill children. Formerly Marcy Hermit, she was renamed Wendy after her transformation. Alex Lawther plays Joe Hermit, a medic for Prodigy Corporation Security Service and Wendy’s human brother. Essie Davis portrays Dame Sylvia, a Prodigy scientist and therapist for the "Lost Boys," married to Arthur Sylvia. Samuel Blenkin is Boy Kavalier, Prodigy’s ambitious CEO and the world’s youngest trillionaire. Babou Ceesay plays Morrow, a cyborg security officer for Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the *Maginot*’s sole survivor. Adarsh Gourav appears as Slightly, a hybrid and "Lost Boy" formerly known as Aarush Singh. Other "Lost Boys" include Erana James as Curly (formerly Jane Mita), Lily Newmark as Nibs (formerly Rose Ellis), and Jonathan Ajayi as Smee (formerly Christopher Okafor). David Rysdahl plays Arthur Sylvia, a Prodigy scientist and Dame Sylvia’s husband. Diêm Camille and Moe Bar-El appear as Prodigy Security soldiers Siberian and Rashidi, partnered with Joe. Adrian Edmondson plays Atom Eins, a synthetic advisor to Boy Kavalier. Timothy Olyphant portrays Kirsh, a synthetic chief scientist who mentors the "Lost Boys."
Recurring roles include Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Yutani, CEO of Weyland-Yutani Corporation, and Kit Young as Tootles/Isaac, a hybrid "Lost Boy" who rejects his given name and renames himself after Isaac Newton (formerly Steven DiMarco). Guest stars include Richa Moorjani as Zoya Z

Lore & Background
Development for the series was reported to have begun in early 2019, with Ridley Scott attached to executive produce for FX on Hulu. It had started pre-production by April 2023, with Sydney Chandler cast in the lead role the following month, and further casting taking place from July to November that year. After principal photography was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production began in July 2023 but was halted in August due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming resumed in April 2024 and wrapped in July that year.
